Following is a partial listing of the Structural system and components that are observed during the home inspection

< Back

Metal truss plate improperly located such that the top frame member (chord) is not sufficiently engaged.

Broken roof truss web member (center area).

Support framing not present where required at roof sheathing perimeter around attic vent opening.

The bottom of this rafter is not sufficiently supported. Cracking and failure of the rafter may occur.

Bracing is missing from the top (top chords) of several trusses. Bracing is required to prevent deflection / buckling.

This truss is improperly cantilevered. A support is required underneath the end of the truss.

Several of these wall studs terminate short at the top and/or bottom--seen the photo to right.

Excessive gaps between the studs and bottom support plate. There are similar deficiencies at the tops of multiple studs.

Large tree is impacting and damaging the house.  Significant cracking is evident--see photo to right.

Wide cracking and shifting of the wall evident below the window due to the tree seen in left photo.

Due to deficient roof flashing, water is intruding into the wall structure behind the siding--see photo to right.

Decayed wood wall sheathing and framing is visible through the rotted opening in the siding.
